Job summary
LIU is seeking a driven Assistant Coach for its NCAA Division I softball program. The role collaborates with the Head Coach to support all coaching and operational duties on the LIU Brooklyn campus for 2026-27 and LIU Post campus from 2027-28 onward.
The ideal candidate will foster a positive team culture, assist in recruiting, and help student-athletes balance academics and athletics while ensuring compliance with NCAA and LIU policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- NCAA Division I coaching experience or equivalent.
- Strong recruiting and player development background.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist Head Coach in planning and implementing practice sessions and game plans.
- Mentor student-athletes in athletic and academic development.
- Recruit prospective student-athletes on-campus visits and travel.
- Coordinate video breakdown and analysis for scouting and feedback.
- Monitor student-athlete academic progress with advisors.
- Ensure program compliance with NCAA, NEC, and LIU policies.
- Assist with team travel logistics, budgeting, equipment, and admin duties.
- Represent LIU at conferences and community events.
