Job summary

Long Island University is seeking a full-time Women’s Rowing Assistant Coach to help recruit, coach, and counsel student-athletes under the leadership of the Women’s Rowing Head Coach. The role emphasizes planning, practice, and competition preparation, as well as program operations on the LIU Post campus.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of coaching experience, a Bachelor's degree, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work nights and weekends while upholding NCAA policies and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years of coaching experience required, preferably collegiate level.
• Strong communication, public relations and management skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
• Knowledge of NCAA policies preferred.
• Ability to work with a diverse campus community.

Responsibilities

• Assist with budgeting and expenditures for the rowing program.
• Assist with leadership and instruction in athlete development.
• Assist with planning, organization, and coaching of the rowing team.
• Support fundraising efforts for the program.
• Evaluate and implement innovations in rowing strategy and equipment.
• Coach and instruct student-athletes in sport-specific skills, training techniques, and strategies.
• Recruit student-athletes by identifying and vetting prospects, coordinating visits, and collaborating with admissions.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure NCAA and university compliance.
• Assist with travel planning, paperwork, and budget management.
• Motivate recruits, athletes, and alumni to support the program.
