Job summary

Great American Insurance Group in Schaumburg, IL seeks a D&O Financial Institutions Underwriter to market, underwrite and produce profitable business within Directors and Officers Liability Insurance for public, private and nonprofit entities.

The role requires evaluating account information, performing financial statement analysis, and underwriting within guidelines while developing strong broker relationships.

Qualifications

• 0 to 5 years of insurance, banking, financial institution or related experience.
• Bachelors degree focus in Finance, Accounting or other Business-related field.
• High level of organizational skills and the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to leverage relationships and market products and services.
• Must be able to travel as needed and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for an assigned book of business in which account information is evaluated, underwritten, and priced within authority guidelines.
• Risk selection/rejection, retention, growth, and profitability within scope of authority and divisional objectives.
• _Performs financial statement analysis of prospective risks and makes pricing/term recommendations.
• Service complex multi-line risks and maintain broker relationships.
• Conduct marketing visits out of state and promptly issue quotes, policies, and endorsements.
• Understand, compare, and contrast policy language both internal and competitor forms.
