Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Cytotechnologist to evaluate patient cell samples and assist pathologists in preparing reports. The role involves staining, mounting, and microscopic study of cells to detect cancer and other pathological conditions.

Qualified candidates will hold a CT Cytotechnologist Certification (ASCP preferred), a Bachelor's in Biology/Chemistry/MLS, and completion of a Cytotechnology Program. Three years of clinical lab experience is preferred, with required biology/chemistry and

Qualifications

• CT Cytotechnologist Certification (ASCP preferred) required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry/MLS required.
• Completion of Cytotechnology Program required.
• 3 years of clinical lab experience preferred.
• 28 CH biology/chemistry and 3 CH math/statistics training required.

Responsibilities

• Stains, mounts, and studies cells under a microscope to detect cancer and other conditions.
• Performs specimen processing and special procedures for adequacy.
• Acts as technical reference.
• Correlates data and detects discrepancies in requisitions and data entry.
