Job summary

The Cytotechnologist at Charleston Area Medical Center will prepare and process specimens for cytologic evaluation, and perform microscopic interpretation of slides from Gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens.

Responsibilities include screening for malignant cells, documenting slide counts, assisting pathologists, and ensuring QA/QC as part of the CAP-inspected laboratory. The position is full-time, days schedule at Mon Medical Center Main Campus in Morgantown, WV. Negotiable salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Cytotechnologist certification required.
• ASCP certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Two years cytology lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screens and evaluates cytology slides with pathologist guidance.
• Assists pathologist with accessioning, processing and review of specimens.
• Maintains QA records and QC procedures as required by CAP inspections.
• Maintains cytology computer systems and records.
• Performs other duties as required.
