Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from CAAHEP or CAHEA accredited cytotechnologist program.
• Certified by ASCP as a Cytotechnologist.
• Experience in a laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and analyze according to SOP to produce accurate results.
• Assist physicians with FNA specimen adequacy during procedures.
• Prepare reagents and solutions to complete tests per SOP.
• Restock supplies and assist coworkers.
• Prepare and accession patient specimens ensuring proper labeling and information.
• Perform QA/QC procedures to ensure reliable results.
• Troubleshoot and resolve instrument issues promptly.
• Participate in proficiency testing and reporting as required.
• Verify abnormal results and notify care units per SOP.
• Contribute to training and education within the hospital.
