Job summary

The successful candidate will work closely with Pathologists, possess relevant West Virginia licensure, and have certification from ASCP. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic procedures, quality assurance, and assisting in patient procedures. The position offers a 40-hour work week with no holidays or weekends required.

Qualifications

• Must possess current licensure in West Virginia.
• Previous laboratory experience preferred.
• Strong ability to recognize abnormal and normal cells.

Responsibilities

• Process and screen cytological specimens.
• Assist physicians during patient procedures.
• Perform quality assurance and control procedures.
• Verify abnormal results and notify relevant personnel.
• Train new employees as needed.

Skills

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

Manual dexterity for instrument operation

Experience with laboratory equipment

Education

Graduate from CAAHEP or CAHEA accredited cytotechnologist program

Certified by ASCP as a Cytotechnologist
