Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a Cytotechnologist to stain, mount, and study cells, detecting cancer and hormonal abnormalities per standards. The role involves coordinating and performing specialized screening of slides in clinical specimens for abnormalities and pathology.

Travel assignments in healthcare facilities are expected. Applicants should have licensure per state/contract, a BS in biological sciences or related field preferred, and 1 year of Cytotechnologist experience is

• Bachelor of Science in biological sciences or related field preferred.
• One year of Cytotechnologist experience preferred.
• Complies with professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• Health certificate as required by contract or state regulation.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Stains, mounts, and studies cells to detect cancer and other abnormalities.
• Screen slides of clinical specimens to detect abnormalities and pathology.
• Coordinate and participate in complex technical tasks related to cytology.

Job description

The Cytotechnologist stains, mounts, and studies cells to detect evidence of cancer, hormonal abnormalities, and other pathological conditions following established standards and practices.

The Cytotechnologist coordinates and participates in specialized and complex technical tasks involved in screening slides of clinical specimens to detect evidence of abnormalities and pathological concerns.

• Licensure/Certification required per state/contract
• Bachelor of Science degree in biological science or related field preferred.
• One (1) 1 year of experience as a Cytotechnologist preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
