Job summary

Physician Affiliate Group of New York, PAGNY, is seeking a Cytopathologist to join NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. The role involves sign-out of cytology and surgical pathology, ROSE, ultrasound-guided FNA, and education of trainees in cytopathology.

The successful candidate will lead QA/QC efforts, participate in tumor boards, and support interdisciplinary collaboration within a busy academic medical setting. LA license and NYS credentials required.

Qualifications

• Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology or Board Eligibility.
• Board Certification in Cytopathology or Board Eligibility.
• Completion of Cytopathology Fellowship.
• New York State Medical License required.

Responsibilities

• Sign-out of general anatomic pathology cases, including surgical pathology and cytology.
• Supervise cytotechnologists and ensure QA/QC compliance for Cytology.
• Maintain cytology statistics and SOPs; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Participate in Cytology proficiency testing and reporting.
• Perform ultrasound-guided FNA biopsies; provide ROSE.
• Educate fellows, residents, and students in cytopathology and FNA techniques.
• Review abnormal Hematology slides; participate in tumor boards and conferences.
• Sign-out postmortem examinations; contribute to departmental QA activities.
