Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories Corporate in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Cytology Preparatory Assistant to join the Cytology-Ref Lab. This full-time position supports sample processing for high complexity analysis under supervision, and helps ensure compliance with CLIA ’88, JCAHO, CAP and OSHA standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent with strong reading, writing and math abilities, and can communicate effectively in oral and written formats.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must exhibit personal maturity and responsibility.
• Good reading, writing and math abilities are required.
• Communicates effectively in oral and written formats sufficient to demonstrate comprehension.
• Able to perform detailed work; work with frequent interruptions in stressful environment, multi-task, problem solve and memorization.
• Able to take direction and assimilate instructions quickly.
• Good organizational skills are also required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Additional related education and/or Cytology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives Cytology samples and performs processing for high complexity analysis under supervision.
• Assists with department compliance with CLIA ’88, JCAHO, CAP and OSHA.
• Maintains confidentiality and accurate documentation in a busy lab.
• Able to perform detailed work amid interruptions and multi-tasking requirements.
