Laboratory Sciences of Arizona is hiring for a Cytology Processor (CPP I/II) at our Phoenix, AZ lab. The role involves receiving cytology samples and processing them for high-complexity analysis, under supervision, with emphasis on accuracy and timely workflow.

The position supports compliance with CLIA ’88, CAP and OSHA requirements, and collaborates with the department to ensure quality and safety in daily tasks within a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Come do great work on behalf of better health!POSITION SUMMARYReceives Cytology samples and performs processing for high complexity analysis as defined by CLIA ‘88 in an accurate and timely manner with supervision. Assists with department compliance with all pertinent laboratory accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA ’88, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA). Personnel report to department supervisor. CPP I is proficient in all Primary Tasks and Secondary Standardized Tasks and knowledgeable in Quality, Secondary Non Standardized, Maintenance tasks and Specialty Tasks specific to job area, i.e., Either Order Entry or Gyn Prep. CPP II is proficient in all Primary Tasks and Secondary Standardized Tasks and knowledgeable in Quality, Secondary Non Standardized, Maintenance tasks and Specialty Tasks specific to job areas Order Entry and Gyn Prep.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORSAble to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach and stretch frequently. May be required to use material handling equipment to push/and or pull up to 75 pounds and required to lift, push and/or pull up to 25 pounds. Must use standard precautions due to the threat of exposure to blood and body fluids. Able to perform instrumentation maintenance to include adequate ability to grasp and handle objects. Needs visual acuity and ability to adequately distinguish colors.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESAble to communicate effectively and comprehend written and oral instructions.Requires significant use of computer, phone and general office equipment.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must exhibit personal maturity and responsibility.Good reading, writing and math abilities are required.Communicates effectively in oral and written formats sufficient to demonstrate comprehension.Able to perform detailed work; work with frequent interruptions in stressful environment, multi-task, problem solve and memorization.Able to take direction and assimilate instructions quickly.Good organizational skills are also required.
