Job summary

Laboratory Sciences of Arizona is seeking an experienced Cytology Technician to receive cytology samples and perform processing for high complexity analysis in a CLIA-regulated environment. You will support the Cytology-Ref Lab and report to the department supervisor, handling non Gyn specimen preparation and ensuring compliance with accrediting agencies.

The role requires attention to accuracy, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented lab setting.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent; completed military medical training (50+ weeks) as a medical laboratory specialist.
• Associate’s degree with chemistry and/or biology credits (20 hours) is required.
• Chemistry/biology credits with three (3) years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Certified MLT (ASCP) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Receives Cytology samples and performs processing for high complexity analysis.
• Performs all essential functions of a Testing Level II employee.
• Assists with department compliance with accrediting agencies (CLIA ’88, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA).
