Job summary

Wellstar Health System, Inc. is seeking a Cytology Supervisor to oversee the Cytology Section. You will supervise staff, coordinate ThinPrep screenings (GYN and Non-GYN), FNA procedures, and ensure accurate specimen labeling and data entry.

You will work under the Histology/Cytology Manager with pathologist input, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality control across OSHA, CLIA, CAP, and JCAHO guidelines. Strong collaboration with labs, IT, and clinicians is essential.

Qualifications

• Assoc or Bachelors in a relevant field (preferred).
• Minimum 4 years of related experience with Cytology.
• Cytotechnologist certification ASCP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all Cytology section activities and staffing.
• Oversee ThinPrep screening (GYN & Non-GYN) and FNA procedures.
• Ensure accurate labeling, data entry, and specimen tracking.
• Maintain OSHA/CLIA/CAP/JCAHO compliance and quality control.
• Coordinate with pathologists and IT systems (Misys, CoPath).
• Manage workflow and regulatory documentation.
