Wellstar Health System in Georgia seeks an experienced Cytology/Histology support technician. You will register patient data, prepare cytology and pathology specimens, and manage sendout processes while maintaining accurate billing entries.

You will handle specimen retrieval and ensure accurate labeling and tracking throughout processing. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with nursing and pathology staff, following safety regulations, and maintaining inventory.

Formación

• High school diploma is required.
• General knowledge of lab techniques and principles.
• Cytology and Histology training.
• Regulatory knowledge: OSHA, CLIA, CAP.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsabilidades

• Register and verify patient data in the Anatomic Pathology system.
• Prepare cytology and pathology specimens.
• Perform sendout duties and enter charges.
• Retrieve surgical specimens from operating rooms as scheduled.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of specimens per safety policies.
