The Medical Director of the Laboratory at Medical City Dallas, part of HCA Healthcare, oversees moderate and high complexity cytogenetics testing with no direct supervision. Final results are issued after review by the Cytogenetics Director or Medical Director.

Key duties include chromosome analysis, FISH, tissue culture, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and directing development of new procedures while controlling costs and maintaining quality goals.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Prior chromosome and/or FISH analysis experience required.
• Cytogenetics CG certification required.

Mansioni

• Chromosome analysis, FISH, short- and long-term tissue culture, harvesting.
• Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement projects in the laboratory.
• Troubleshoots equipment, methods, and all aspects of the testing process to assure quality.
• Directs research and development of new procedures and changes to existing procedures.
• Active in controlling operation costs, maintaining quality goals, and investigating possibilities for improving all aspects of the laboratory
