Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Cytogenetic Technologist to join our team in Spokane, WA. The role involves performing cytogenetic analyses including imaging, FISH, and karyotyping, and requires attention to ISCN nomenclature and quality control.

You will review requisitions and maintain equipment, while adhering to safety and company policies. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology and 1+ year of cytogenetics testing experience; ASCP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology is required.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience including FISH analysis.
• ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCPCG) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis, which includes imaging, oncology FISH and/or karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens
• Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis
• Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
• Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment
• Perform and evaluate troubleshooting, document all corrective actions as needed
• Comply with company policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe work environment.
