Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Cytogenetic Technologist to join our Spokane, WA team. You will perform cytogenetic analyses including imaging, FISH, and karyotyping, and summarize results using ISCN nomenclature.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work overtime as needed in a fast-paced diagnostic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience including FISH analysis.
• Color vision test requirement.
• ASCP Cytogenetics certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis including imaging, oncology FISH and/or karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens.
• Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis.
• Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature.
• Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Troubleshoot and document corrective actions.
• Comply with policies and maintain a safe work environment.

PAML a Labcorp company is seeking a Cytogenetic Technologist to join our team in Spokane, WA.

Work Schedule

Sunday - Wednesday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm overtime and additional days or hours may be required

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis, which includes imaging, oncology FISH and/or karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens
• Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis
• Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
• Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment
• Perform and evaluate troubleshooting, document all corrective actions as needed
• Comply with company policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe work environment

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience including FISH analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCPCG)

Pay Range

$24.77 to $38.00 hourly All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
