Job summary

The Cytogenetics Laboratory at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a Cytogenetic Scientist to perform detailed cytogenetic and FISH analyses, generate karyograms, and interpret ISCN nomenclature for diploid and abnormal cases.

You will act as a first reader for complex cases, evaluate specimen integrity, perform tissue culture, harvesting, banding, routine analysis, and integrate results with patient diagnoses while maintaining QC and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in related science or Cytogenetic Technology.
• Minimum 1 year clinical lab experience with related science degree.

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed cytogenetic and/or FISH analysis with ISCN interpretation.
• Generates karyograms and serves as first reader for complex cases.
• Evaluates specimen integrity and conducts tissue culture, harvesting, and routine analysis.
