Baylor Genetics in Houston, TX is seeking a Sr. Cytogenetic Analyst to analyze cytogenetic samples and support diagnostic work. The role requires performing routine and complex cytogenetic procedures, maintaining lab quality standards, and assisting in lab management.

You'll review chromosome and FISH results, write reports, help with staffing and monitoring turnaround times, troubleshoot QC issues, and contribute to validations and proficiency testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field from an accredited institution is required.
• 5+ years of relevant lab data analyst experience.
• 3+ years relevant clinical lab operations/wetlab experience.
• Certification/registration as a Technologist in Cytogenetics by the ASCP CG(ASCP) is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine cytogenetic procedures and analyses.
• Review chromosome and FISH samples, write reports, and ensure quality standards.
• Support lab manager in staffing, scheduling and monitoring turnaround time (TAT).
• Troubleshoot quality issues in the lab and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Assist in complex cytogenetic procedures and ensure adherence to policies.
