Job summary

Navy Region Naval District Washington Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Child & Youth Program Leader to provide direct care and supervision for children and youth, while mentoring CY Program Assistants and supporting trainers. The role requires collaboration with the Training and Curriculum Specialist to translate professional development into practice.

The Leader conducts curriculum planning and activity supervision, ensuring safety and compliance with DoD standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate programs designed to meet physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of children and youth from 6 weeks to 18 years.
• Ability to apply child and youth development principles and practices to programming.
• Skill in leadership, mentoring, and guidance to CY Program Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and instruction to children and youth.
• Lead and mentor CY Program Assistant team.
• Assist in translating training into practice for staff development.
• Plan activities and curriculum with input from T&C Specialist and supervisors.
• Ensure safety and supervision compliant with DoD and local policies.
• Communicate professionally with parents and staff.
