Job summary

Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Child and Youth Program (CYP) Leader to provide developmental care and instruction for ages 6 weeks to 18 years, while mentoring CYP Assistants. The role operates independently on routine tasks with supervision for complex assignments.

The candidate will mentor staff, develop curriculum, coordinate indoor/outdoor activities, ensure safety, and communicate with parents and local installation command personnel.

Qualifications

Knowledge of developmentally appropriate programs for children and youth 6 weeks to 18 years.
Knowledge of child and youth development principles and practices.
Ability to apply laws governing child abuse prevention.
Ability to plan, schedule, and lead programs.
Experience mentoring CY Program Assistants.

Responsibilities

Mentor CY Program Assistant team and train lower-level staff.
Plan activities and adapt curriculum to individual needs and parental instructions.
Ensure safety, supervision, and accountability of participants.
Communicate with parents, employees, and installation personnel.
Maintain program records and document progress.

HS Diploma / GED / CDA/MSA

2-year degree in Youth Development or related field

CY-02 level experience (CY-II) or equivalent
