Job summary

Naval District Washington (NDW) is seeking a CYP Cook at Patuxent River, MD to prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks within required time frames in a center-based food service operation.

You will maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment and ensure menus align with USDA CACFP standards for children and youth. The role involves working full-time with a 35–40 hour weekly schedule and a strong emphasis on food safety and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food handling techniques and safe work procedures.
• Ability to prepare meals from standardized recipes for large quantities.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, and gravies according to recipes.
• Plan and coordinate entire meals to meet timing and temperatures.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation per NAVMED P5010 and local policies.
• Label and store food items; assist with receiving and storage.
