Job summary

The Bachrach Group is seeking a Cylindrical Grinding - Field Service Technician for our Engineering team in Chicago, IL. This permanent role requires 90–100% travel (Mon–Fri) with base pay of $85,000–$100,000 and occasional international travel.

Candidates should have an associate degree or related experience, 3+ years in cylindrical grinding machine maintenance, and strong troubleshooting skills for onsite and remote support.

Qualifications

• Associates in skilled trades or related experience.
• 3+ years of cylindrical grinding machine maintenance.
• Onsite and remote troubleshooting and support.
• Ability to interpret schematic drawings and blueprints.
• Installation, maintenance, troubleshoot and repair.
• PLC programming/troubleshooting, control systems, Fanuc Controls, and power circuits.
• Provide project management and training as required.
• Valid driver’s license with unrestricted travel.
• 90% travel M-F, weekend travel possible.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites up to 90–100% Mon–Fri.
• Maintain and repair cylindrical grinding machines onsite.
• Troubleshoot electrical and control systems, including Fanuc controls.
• Interpret schematics and blueprints for installation and repair.
• Provide training and project management as required.
