Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Cylinder Loader in Lansing, MI to operate equipment for handling and filling gas cylinders. You will load/unload cylinders, sort by type, label, and transport with a forklift while following safety and government standards.

You’ll read MSDS and maintain accurate paperwork in a fast-paced plant setting. Ideal candidates have a HS Diploma or GED, forklift ability (training possible), and strong communication and teamwork skills to support production and safety.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift (training may be provided).
• Experience in manufacturing, filling or loading is a plus.
• Familiarity with gas, welding and safety supply industry valued.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for team alignment.
• Ability to read MSDS and maintain a safe environment.
• Customer service mindset and self-motivation in a fast-paced setting.
• Attention to detail and precision with measurements and units.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload gas cylinders and related products onto/off trucks and pallets.
• Sort cylinders by type and label accurately; inspect and prepare for filling.
• Operate forklift to move cylinders on the plant floor; follow safety checks and procedures.
• Maintain paperwork for DOT, FDA, OSHA and Airgas standards; complete quality control sheets.
• Perform basic cylinder maintenance and ensure a clean and safe work area.
