Job summary

McCormick & Company is seeking a Cycle Counter I - 1st Shift at the Regional Distribution Center in Byhalia, MS. Responsibilities include perpetual cycle counts, reconciling variances, and root-cause analysis to ensure 100% yearly coverage of warehouse bins.

You will work with SAP-EWM and SAP-ECC, may operate forklift and aerial lift, and support training and process improvements across departments. Overtime on short notice is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of SAP/ERP Warehouse Management Systems preferred.
• One year of production or warehouse experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to use calculator, on-line systems including PC databases, lotus notes, Excel required.
• Must have forklift license or ability to obtain one; experience on man-lift equipment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights up to 25 feet.
• Overtime on short notice required.

Responsibilities

• Cycle count finished goods and in-process materials; compare system vs physical counts.
• Make adjustments to correct inventory records.
• Review discrepancies by examining transactions and material movements.
• Conduct audits of inventory transactions and report findings.
• Perform special cycle count requests and projects; document procedures.
• Assist in training and location label printing.
• May operate forklift and aerial lift to count inventory in racks up to 35 ft.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Acceptable attendance required.
• Meets standards in overall performance rating in most recent performance review
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of SAP/ERP Warehouse Management Systems preferred.
• One year of production or warehouse experience preferred.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Inventory Manager, responsible for perpetual cycle counts, reconciliation of inventory variance and root cause analysis of inventory variance. This position works with the Cycle count team to provide 100% yearly coverage to warehouse bins with pallets of finished goods, packaging, and raw materials in the Regional Distribution Center campus. This role also p rovides documented feedback from cycle count results to departments for training and process improvement . Supports rack labeling inspection and other special projects to support inventory management as required. This position will work in SAP-EWM as well as SAP-ECC. This role also communicates with company supply partners for inventory variance audits that may have originated in production.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cycle count finished goods and in-process materials, which consists of finished goods, and in-process materials and packaging supplies, comparing computer system count against physical count.
• Make proper adjustments to correct inventory system record errors.
• Review, correct and determine the cause of discrepancies found by examining transactions and material movements previously made.
• Conduct audits to monitor operations, paperwork flow and procedures relating to the recording of inventory transactions in all department and issue reports to department crew leaders for possible resolution.
• Perform special cycle count requests and inventory projects as required. Document operational procedure.
• Assist departments in training as required and assists in location label printing.
• May operate forklift and aerial lift to count inventory stored in racks up to 35 ft. high and hard to reach places when necessary.
• Other office duties or projects as assigned.
