SMP Automotive System Alabama Inc. in Cottondale, AL is seeking a Cycle Counter for the 1st shift to support inventory accuracy, reconciliation, and documentation of discrepancies.

You will perform daily cycle counts, verify locations and lot codes, and work with the Inventory Control Coordinator in Holland to resolve variances. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, automotive manufacturing experience, and SAP knowledge; OSHA and 5S familiarity are valued.

Qualifications

• Familiar with SAP software and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy.

We are looking for a talented Cycle Counter to join our growing team. You will be responsible to perform regular counts to identify possible discrepancies in inventory quantities and reconcile discovered variances according to the approved policies and procedures. This team member will be accountable for accuracy, control, monitoring and coordination in order to confirm inventory & investigate count discrepancies and be required to perform other duties as needed.

What you will be responsible for:

• Perform daily cycle counts.
• Monitoring and controlling inventory integrity.
• Maintain product identification, location, and lot code accuracy.
• Research inventory discrepancies.
• Work with Inventory Control Coordinator in Holland to resolve inventory problems in a timely manner.
• Open containers to count items and/or weigh materials to determine quantity on hand.
• Report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products
• Strive for 100% on time delivery while maintaining picking accuracy of customer orders.
• Accurately pick, pack & ship customer orders.
• Assist with other duties as required.

• High school diploma / GED
• Experience working in the position in the automotive manufacturing industry

• Knowledge of Policy & Procedure
• Understanding of cross-functional activities (departments like quality assurance, accounting, controlling & production)
• SAP software experience preferred
