Job summary

Northern Trust in Chicago, IL offers a ten-week technology internship for cybersecurity-focused students. You will work with engineering and security teams on real projects to build practical skills in threat management, IAM, data protection, and governance, risk, and compliance.

Interns participate in professional development workshops, Lunch & Learns, and cross-functional projects, with mentorship and networking opportunities across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in Cybersecurity or related major with expected graduation between December 2027 and Summer 2028.
• Experience learning programming languages and technology tools (Java, Python, SQL, Azure, ServiceNow).
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher; strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering and security teams on real cybersecurity projects.
• Gain hands-on experience in threat management, identity and access management, data protection, and governance, risk, and compliance.
• Participate in program events and mentorship, contributing to enterprise-wide security initiatives.
