Job summary

Northern Trust in Chicago offers a ten-week Technology internship for students pursuing cybersecurity or related majors. You will gain hands-on experience protecting enterprise systems and collaborating with information security professionals.

You’ll participate in security initiatives, learn about threat management, identity and access management, data protection, governance, risk, and compliance, and engage in leadership‑level events and cross‑functional projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in Cybersecurity or related field with graduation between Dec 2027 and Summer 2028.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Curiosity about financial markets and interest in financial services industry.
• Proven analytical, data interpretation, problem-solving, and strategic thinking from coursework or internship.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork through projects.

Responsibilities

• Build relevant skills and work on meaningful projects within the internship program.
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams on day-to-day tasks.
• Join events to develop skills, network with leaders, and connect with fellow interns.
