Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Manager, Cyber Security to lead and mentor security teams while guiding risk reduction initiatives across multiple programs.

You will advise on best practices, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive improvements in controls, tooling, and data analytics. You will focus on alignment with enterprise standards, regulatory expectations, and business objectives, while communicating findings to executive audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years in cybersecurity or IT.
• 6+ years evaluating or supporting cybersecurity capabilities.
• Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, etc.).
• Experience developing or interpreting cybersecurity metrics or dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop associates with clear expectations.
• Advise on best practices to reduce risk and configure security tools.
• Support capability, risk, and threat classification framework development.
• Drive continuous improvement programs including risk & issue identification.
• Coordinate cross-program risk reduction and data analytics for prioritization.
• Lead solutions and management of large-scale enterprise risk reduction efforts.
• Communicate gaps and remediation options to leadership.
• Lead cross-domain risk assessments and align controls with business goals.
• Influence cross-program risk initiatives and standardize testing/reporting.
