Job summary

Dean Dorton is seeking a Cybersecurity Risk and Compliance Consultant to protect client systems and data. You will split time between frontline threat response and proactive security posture management, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and grow into SOC leadership.

You’ll engage in automation, develop processes, and collaborate with clients to tailor security solutions that meet evolving threats and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in information security, with a focus on managed security services.
• Prior experience triaging and responding to security alerts.
• Prior experience building scripts or automations to streamline security workflows.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Alert triage and response across EDR, Email, and Identity platforms with strong autonomy.
• Security posture management with monthly reviews of client configurations (Firewalls, EDR, Email security).
• Process automation to remove bottlenecks and improve SOC efficiency.
• Help build processes, playbooks, and standards as you progress toward a leadership role.
• Mentor junior cybersecurity consultants and support their growth.
• Collaborate with clients to tailor services to their security needs.
