Job summary

Dean Dorton is seeking a Cybersecurity Risk & Compliance Consultant to protect client systems and data, lead threat response, and enhance security posture. The role emphasizes automation, playbook development, and mentoring junior staff within a dynamic MSS/SOC environment.

You’ll split time between incident triage, policy reviews, and proactive security governance, with opportunities to grow into SOC leadership and client-facing engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in information security.
• Experience triaging and responding to security alerts.
• Experience building scripts or automations to streamline security workflows.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontline threat response and proactive security posture management.
• Mentor junior cybersecurity consultants and support growth.
• Identify process improvements and automate workflows to accelerate SOC operations.
• Collaborate with clients to tailor security services to their needs.
• Develop playbooks and standards toward SOC leadership.
