Job summary

Dean Dorton is seeking a Cybersecurity Risk & Compliance Consultant to protect client systems, manage security posture, and automate SOC workflows. You’ll split time between active threat response and proactive security reviews, with opportunities to grow into running the SOC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in information security, with a focus on managed security services.
• Prior experience triaging and responding to security alerts.
• Prior experience building scripts or automations to streamline security workflows.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support client engagements and internal initiatives with varied tasks.
• Alert triage, response, investigation, and remediation across EDR, email, and identity platforms.
• Perform monthly security posture reviews of client configurations (firewalls, EDR, email security).
• Identify bottlenecks and build scripts/automations to speed SOC operations.
• Mentor junior cybersecurity consultants and support team growth.
• Collaborate with clients to tailor security services to needs.
