Job summary

Dean Dorton is a national advisory firm seeking a Cybersecurity Risk and Compliance Consultant in Lexington, KY. You will split time between frontline threat response (EDR, email, and identity alerts) and proactive security posture management to support client needs.

You’ll grow toward leading the SOC while mentoring junior consultants, automating workflows, and collaborating with clients to tailor security services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in information security.
• Experience triaging and responding to security alerts.
• Experience building scripts or automations to streamline security workflows.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triage, investigate, and remediate alerts across EDR, Email, and Identity platforms.
• Review client security configurations monthly to ensure proper tool effectiveness.
• Identify bottlenecks and build scripts/automations to speed the SOC.
• Develop processes, playbooks, and standards toward SOC leadership.
• Mentor junior cybersecurity consultants and support team growth.
• Represent Dean Dorton’s cybersecurity practice in client engagements.
