Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks interns eager to learn and push the boundaries of cyber science and technology for national security. You will collaborate on research across cryptography, embedded systems, offensive security, and cyber testbeds to support mission-critical capabilities.

Ideal candidates are pursuing degrees in CS/CE/EE or math, possess knowledge in Python, C/C++, MATLAB, and related tools, and can obtain interim Secret clearance with ultimate

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in CS/CE/EE/Math or related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Eligible for Interim Secret clearance; ultimately Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to research and development in cryptography, embedded solutions, offensive security, and constrained cyber integration.
  • Research capability gaps and prototype solutions with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Collaborate with cyber and engineering professionals to solve national security challenges.
  • Gain experience communicating technical work through briefings and presentations.
