Job summary

Prairie Consulting Services is seeking an experienced IT Release Manager in Chicago to own end-to-end IT change and release governance. The role coordinates across Security, Infrastructure, Network, and Operations teams to ensure secure, compliant production changes.

The ideal candidate has strong IT change management, release governance, and stakeholder communication skills, with experience in regulated financial services environments. US-based applicants preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT change management and release governance.
• Experience in highly regulated industries; financial services preferred.
• Ownership of end-to-end change processes beyond project management.
• Strong coordination and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience with SNOW, JIRA, ADO, Office 365, and MS Teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and coordinate the end-to-end IT change and release management process.
• Plan, schedule, and govern releases across multiple teams and workstreams.
• Manage change approvals, risk assessments, release readiness, deployment plans, and rollback procedures.
• Coordinate with Security Engineering, Infrastructure, Network, Application, and Operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with change controls, audit requirements, and regulatory commitments.
• Manage release calendars, dependencies, stakeholder communications, and go/no-go decisions.
