Job summary

Broward County is seeking a Junior Cybersecurity Analyst to bolster protection of critical data and infrastructure. You will oversee cybersecurity events, analyze threats, and support security initiatives across the organization.

This on-site role requires a two-year degree and relevant experience, with preferred cybersecurity credentials and a focus on risk assessment and incident response. The position offers comprehensive county benefits.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree required; major coursework in computer science or related field.
• One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
• Requires four years in systems analysis and applications programming or closely related experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and correlate cybersecurity events to identify and mitigate network threats.
• Assist in resolving complex security tasks and escalate issues when necessary.
• Configure, assess, and manage security tools to safeguard County systems and data.
• Conduct risk assessments, including audits and third-party security reviews, to identify vulnerabilities and guide remediation efforts.
• Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent security controls.
• Research emerging technologies, recommend solutions, and lead projects to enhance security posture.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders to deliver effective security solutions.
• Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry standards such as NIST, OWASP, HIPAA, PCI, and CJIS.
