Job summary

Broward County is seeking a Junior Cybersecurity Analyst to bolster protection of critical data and infrastructure. You will monitor cybersecurity events, analyze threats, and support security initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

• Requires a two-year degree from an accredited school; related coursework preferred.
• One year of relevant experience may substitute for each year of education.
• Four years in systems analysis or applications programming or closely related experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and correlate cybersecurity events to identify and mitigate network threats.
• Assist in resolving complex security tasks and incidents as needed.
• Configure, assess, and manage security tools to safeguard county systems and data.
• Conduct risk assessments and third‑party security reviews to guide remediation.
• Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Research emerging technologies and lead projects to improve security posture.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on security solutions.
• Stay current with regulatory requirements and standards (NIST, OWASP, HIPAA, PCI, CJIS).
• Work independently with limited supervision and report major activities in meetings.
