Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in cybersecurity or related field; practical experience considered.
• Foundational networking, OS, and cloud concepts.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management, log analysis, incident response, or threat detection.

Responsibilities

• Support security team members in monitoring Grainger’s environment for signs of compromise.
• Assist with security program processes, asset inventories, platform monitoring, or infrastructure provisioning.
• Learn how systems, identities, and access are mapped and how security controls support processes.
• Support vulnerability management by reviewing findings and tracking remediation.
• Gain exposure to SIEM platforms for alert triage and log analysis.
• Use Jira/ServiceNow to manage work and backlogs.
• Explore AI-enabled workflows and scripting to aid security tasks.
• Document processes and communicate findings to teammates and leaders.
• Build learning across code, tools, and business contexts with ownership.
• Present work and learnings to technology leaders at internship end.
