Job summary

Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer I to protect digital assets and customer data. You will design, implement, and manage security controls across endpoints, networks, and applications, with responsibilities scaling to experience.

You’ll monitor SIEM/EDR, respond to incidents, perform vulnerability assessments, manage patching, and contribute to security policy development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems (SIEM/Endpoint Protection, DLP, IPS/IDS, NAC) for suspicious activities and anomalies.
• Respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and coordinating remediation.
• Identify, analyze, and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Perform threat hunting and advanced detection activities to protect systems and data.
• Lead patch management planning and scheduling across endpoints and servers.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure patches are compatible with systems.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing; remediate findings.
• Design, implement, and manage security solutions (firewalls, encryption, access control).
• Develop security policies, standards, and procedures; improve cybersecurity posture.

Education
