Job summary

Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer I to protect digital assets and customer data. You will design, implement, and manage security measures across endpoints, servers, and networks, and lead incident response and patch management efforts.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of cybersecurity experience, with a focus on compliance (NCUA, PCI-DSS) and ongoing security improvements. On-site schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of cybersecurity experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM and endpoint protection for anomalies and suspicious activity.
• Respond to security incidents and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Identify, analyze, and respond to threats and vulnerabilities.
• Perform threat hunting and advanced detection to protect systems.
• Lead patch planning and scheduling across endpoints, servers, and network devices.
• Develop and maintain a patch management schedule with timely updates.
• Coordinate with teams to minimize disruption during patches.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to prioritize risks.
• Design and manage security solutions (firewalls, encryption, access controls).
• Ensure compliance with NCUA, PCI-DSS and industry standards; assist audits.
• Develop security policies and procedures; drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with network, systems, and app teams to embed security.
• Deliver cybersecurity training to staff on policies and phishing awareness.
• Lead complex incident response as primary contact during high-impact events.
