Job summary

Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer I to protect digital assets, customer data, and internal systems. You will design, implement, and manage security controls while ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and systems.

This role offers flexible scheduling, career growth, and a member-focused mission. You will monitor SIEM and endpoint protection, respond to incidents, and coordinate patches across endpoints, servers, and networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems (SIEM/Endpoint Protection, DLP, IPS/IDS, NAC) for anomalies.
• Respond to security incidents with root cause analysis and remediation coordination.
• Identify, analyze, and respond to threats and vulnerabilities.
• Perform threat hunting and advanced detection activities.
• Lead patch planning, testing, and deployment across endpoints and servers.
• Coordinate with teams to minimize disruption during patches.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Design and manage security solutions (firewalls, encryption, access control).
• Ensure regulatory compliance (NCUA, PCI-DSS) and assist audits.
• Develop security policies and procedures; improve cybersecurity posture.
• Collaborate with network, systems, and application teams to integrate security.
• Deliver cybersecurity training to staff; promote awareness.
• Lead complex incident response with internal/external partners.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
