Job summary

Nooks is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to own the unclassified environment security, align with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2, and maintain evidence for audits. You will implement controls, drive SOX-like processes, and coordinate across IT/Cyber teams to protect CUI and ensure audit readiness.

This hands-on role requires deep regulatory knowledge, attention to change control processes, and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical configurations.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in cybersecurity with a focus on NIST SP 800-171 compliance.
• Experience configuring Google Workspace in regulated environments.
• Ability to conduct technical self-assessments and evidence gathering.
• Active DoD 8570/8140 IAM certification preferred.
• Strong communication to non-technical leadership and auditors.

Responsibilities

• Own unclassified environment compliance posture and SSP maintenance.
• Lead self-assessments, audits, and evidence collection for C3PAO readiness.
• Manage POA&Ms, track findings, and drive remediation.
• Secure Google Workspace and Microsoft environments with proper controls.
• Interface with vendors and internal teams on compliance requirements.
