Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security controls across enterprise systems and networks in the United States. You will deploy WAF, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, Proxy, and endpoint protection while ensuring high availability and audit-ready security posture.

You will collaborate with CyberSecurity Architects and teams on cloud deployments, API integration, and security best practices, contributing to a stronger security posture for the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cyber security engineering or related roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field (or equivalent) such as CISSP, CEH, GSEC, CSSP.
• Curiosity and passion for problem solving.
• Fluent in English.
• Inclusive, collaborative, international teamwork.
• Building real time analytics and data pipelines from different sources.
• Developing micro-services using REST framework.
• Exposing and consuming data using APIs.
• Network security and networking technologies.
• Operating system and database security.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security controls across enterprise systems and networks.
• Deploy and maintain security technologies such as WAF, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, Proxy, and endpoint protection tools.
• Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure to ensure high availability and effectiveness.
• Estimate technical effort, work breakdown structure, risks, and dependencies.
• Analyze and resolve technical problems.
• Establish and promote design guidelines and standards.
• Experiment with new and emerging technologies.
• Work with CyberSecurity Architects on planning, proposal and implementation of security controls.
• Work knowledge in Cloud deployments, application integration, and APIs.
• Project-level experience in a team with multiple parallel workflows and deliverables.
• Identify and define system security requirements for audit readiness.
• Document standard operating procedures for projects and workflows.
• Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices for smooth operation.
• Develop technical solutions and deploy tools to mitigate vulnerabilities and automate tasks.
• Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for long-term remediation.
• Respond to incidents as a CyberSecurity Engineering team representative.
• Ensure data and infrastructure are protected by security controls; perform gap analysis.
• Participate in change management; daily admin, reporting to stakeholders.
• Deliver reports with assessment findings, outcomes, and solutions.
