Job summary

Abacus is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to collaborate with Cybersecurity, Engineering and Service teams to address escalations, manage SOC escalations, and support new security initiatives. We value leadership presence, strong technical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff while working under pressure.

The role requires familiarity with industry tools and experience with incident response, security documentation, and client communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a system engineering or technical security role
• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science or similar focus
• Microsoft Certified (MCSE) or equivalent certification a plus
• Microsoft Cloud Security certifications preferred
• Security certs such as CompTIA CySA, Security+ and Network+; CISA/ISC2 CC

Responsibilities

• High interaction with the Security, Engineering and Service teams, responding to escalated issues in a timely fashion
• Respond and action alerts from our SOC escalations and security tooling to maintain health and security of our platform
• Lead Incident coordination between internal and external entities in alignment with regulatory requirements
• Utilize interpersonal and technical skills to effectively communicate with management, peers, and clients
• Maintain an awareness of security and control issues in emerging technologies
• Ability to scope, implement and support new security projects/initiatives
• Ownership and follow up of pending issues to resolution
• Occasional on call nights, weekend and emergency on call is required within this role.

Job Summary:

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will collaborate closely with Cybersecurity, Engineering, and Service teams to address escalated issues, manageSOCescalations, and support new security initiatives. We are looking for an Engineer with leadership presence,possessingstrong technical and interpersonal skills, familiarity with industry-standard tools, the ability to work under pressure, and the ability to mentor junior members of the team.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to the following):

Skills:

• Familiarity with industry standard tools and applications (such as Palo Alto,Cisco Meraki,SonicWall,Fortigate,SentinelOne,ThreatLocker, MSDefender,G-Suite,Content Filtering,ProtectiveDNS)
• Heavy experience withthe Incident Response lifecycle
• Familiarity with Microsoft (Office365 & Azure) and Citrix (VirtualApps&Desktops) technologies
• Familiaritywithopen-sourceintelligence gathering
• Scriptingabilityand experienceworking with API endpoints such as MSGraph.
• Ability to navigate andutilizea ticketing system (such as ConnectWise or Service Now)
• Experience with change management and security remediation processes
• Experience with security documentation, technical and policy writing
• Ability to deliver technical/security information or concepts in a user-friendly format
• Takes ownership and excels in both independent and team project work
• Ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines
