A cybersecurity recruitment firm is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will manage and secure various infrastructures, focusing on Microsoft Azure and cybersecurity initiatives. Responsibilities include threat hunting, incident management, compliance, and security policy development. Candidates should have a relevant degree, extensive experience in cybersecurity, and relevant certifications. This position requires strong knowledge of information security standards and proactive management in a hybrid infrastructure environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar.
• 5 years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer and/or Senior Cybersecurity Engineer.
• Professional security management certification such as CISSP, CCISO, CISM, and/or CISA.
• Hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure with Microsoft Azure preferred.
• Strong knowledge of information security best practices, standards, and frameworks.

Responsabilités

• Leverage the Microsoft Azure security stack including Sentinel to prevent, detect and respond to threats.
• Provide regular reporting on the status of the information security program.
• Using hands-on skills proactively threat hunt using a variety of tools looking for indicators of compromise.
• Work with the SOC on alerting, triaging, and responding to potential incidents.
• Manage the cybersecurity awareness program and find ways to improve employee awareness.
• Perform risk assessments on all new IT changes and projects.
• Update the incident response plan and lead incident response tabletops.
• Develop and maintain a framework of continuously up-to-date information security policies.
• Lead cybersecurity projects focused on mitigating probable risks.
• Facilitate a metrics and reporting framework to measure the security program's efficiency.
• Work with compliance team on processing and storing information in accordance to laws.
• Manage and secure all applications, endpoints, network, and cloud environments.
• Lead penetration testing and red teaming efforts.

Description du poste

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer focused on maintaining operational stability, while reducing risk, and is part of a diverse, cross‑functional team that collaborates globally across the organization with a variety of partners from service desk technicians to system architects, developers, and compliance.

This is a hands‑on role with someone who can not only manage a cybersecurity program but also has built a secure infrastructure in a hands‑on role.

Preference for a candidate who has deep experience in Microsoft Azure and the Office 365 stack.

What you will be doing:

• Leverage the Microsoft Azure security stack including Sentinel to prevent, detect and respond to threats
• Provide regular reporting on the status of the information security program
• Using your hands‑on skills proactively threat hunt using a variety of tools looking for indicators of compromise
• Work with the SOC on alerting, triaging, and responding to potential incidents
• Manage the cybersecurity awareness program and constantly work on new ways of improving employee awareness based on current threats
• Perform risk assessments on all new IT changes and projects
• Update the incident response plan and corresponding playbooks. Lead incident response tabletops
• Develop and maintain a framework of continuously up‑to‑date information security policies, standards, and guidelines
• Lead cybersecurity projects focused on mitigating probable and impactful risks
• Develop and enhance an up‑to‑date information security management framework
• Facilitate a metrics and reporting framework to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the security program
• Work with the compliance team to ensure that all information owned, collected, or controlled by or on behalf of the company is processed and stored in accordance with applicable laws and other global regulatory requirements
• Manage and secure all applications, endpoints, network, and cloud environments
• Lead penetration testing and red teaming efforts
• Manage and measure the vulnerability and update management program

What you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar
• 5 years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer and/or Senior Cybersecurity Engineer
• Professional security management certification such as CISSP, CCISO, CISM, and/or CISA
• Hands‑on experience in cloud infrastructure with Microsoft Azure preferred
• Proven capability to work alone in implementing security changes
• Strong knowledge of information security best practices, standards, and frameworks, such as CIS, NIST, ISO, and others
• Proven track record and experience in developing information security policies
• Private Equity and/or hedge fund experience strongly preferred
• Hybrid infrastructure experience required
