Job summary

Wipfli LLP is seeking a Cybersecurity Consultant II in the Chicago area. The role is hybrid with two in-office days each week (Tuesday and Thursday) and entails delivering consultative cybersecurity solutions, vulnerability testing, and risk assessment for clients.

Under supervision, you will manage parts of engagements, interact with clients, and help develop team capabilities. A security-focused background and the drive to pursue certifications are ideal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, cybersecurity, information technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year in professional services or 3+ years in private industry focused on cybersecurity/IT.
• Experience and interest in social engineering exercises: OSINT, email phishing, pretext calling, physical pen tests.
• Working knowledge of IT infrastructure: applications, systems, networks, servers, endpoints, cloud, virtualization.
• Willingness to pursue additional certifications relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Execute security and risk consulting engagements including social engineering and vulnerability testing.
• Perform technical vulnerability assessments of networks, devices, apps, and cloud configurations.
• Conduct social engineering services to assess employee awareness.
• Link client requirements to cybersecurity solutions with guidance from senior team members.
• Coordinate engagement activities, test, analyze results, and present findings to management.
• Mentor junior consultants and assist in sales by identifying add-on opportunities.
