Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to design, implement, and maintain a robust security architecture across on-premises and cloud environments. You will lead risk assessments, governance, and incident response while guiding cross-functional teams to protect critical data and systems.

Applicants should have 10+ years in cybersecurity with leadership experience and deep knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS frameworks, and modern security tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, IT, CS or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS frameworks.
• Hands-on security tech: firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, encryption.
• Cloud security expertise across AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Vendor risk, compliance (CCPA/HIPAA/PCI-DSS) familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture strategy.
• Design secure IT environments including network, cloud, and identity management.
• Oversee security controls, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Develop governance policies and standards for security practices.
• Collaborate with executives to define risk appetite and response plans.
• Integrate security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP) into IT architecture.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Provide leadership and training across departments on cyber risks.
