Job summary

The Cybersecurity Analyst at Marist University is a member of the Cybersecurity Team within Information Technology. The role detects and mitigates threats across the Marist network and systems, partnering with IT staff to continually improve security posture on campus.

Responsibilities include administering the SIEM, expanding Governance, Risk and Compliance, enhancing vulnerability management, and supporting internal audits, penetration testing, and incident response efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
• Experience with SIEM and security monitoring is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer SIEM platform and review systems logs for security issues and patterns.
• Assist in expanding the Governance, Risk and Compliance program to improve the maturity of the cyber program.
• Assist enhancing the vulnerability management program to improve the security posture of Marist systems.
• Improve internal auditing program; vulnerability management, system hardening baselines, penetration test, phishing & social engineering tests and attacks.
• Participate in the Incident Response program by investigating cybersecurity incidents, provide digital forensics and system analysis during a cyber incident.
• Other duties as assigned
