Job summary

Marist University in Poughkeepsie, NY is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join the Information Technology team. The Analyst detects and mitigates cybersecurity threats across the Marist network and systems from internal and external sources, coordinating with IT staff to continually strengthen security posture.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity and 1–3 years of cybersecurity experience; a Master’s degree is preferred

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in CS/IS/Cybersecurity or related field.
• 1–3 years of cybersecurity experience required.
• Master’s degree preferred; 3–5 years of experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Administer SIEM platform and review logs for security issues and patterns.
• Assist in expanding Governance, Risk and Compliance program to improve maturity.
• Assist enhancing the vulnerability management program to improve security posture.
• Improve internal auditing program: vulnerability management, system hardening baselines, penetration tests, phishing and social engineering tests.
• Participate in Incident Response by investigating incidents and performing forensics and analysis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education
