Job summary

The City of Deerfield Beach is seeking an IT Security Analyst to safeguard privileged information and prevent unauthorized access to city-wide resources. The role reports to the Information Technology Services department and works with multiple teams to implement security controls and respond to incidents.

Responsibilities include monitoring Next-Gen firewall and DMZ, analyzing SEIM alerts, maintaining documentation, and supporting security testing and forensics activities.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related field.
• 2 years of professional experience with switches, routers, firewalls, DMZ configurations.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
• CompTIA Security+ and CYSA+ (or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the Next-Gen firewall and DMZ.
• Analyze SEIM alerts from monitoring tools and vendors.
• Ensure security configurations across network, desktop, server, wireless, and mobile devices.
• Design and maintain security controls documentation.
• Collaborate with departments to enforce role-based access control and secure business processes.
• Assist in incident response for security incidents.
